As usual, J. M. Madden has written a book that captures the reader on page one and holds her until the last sentence. I loved Diego and Lilly. They were complete opposites and yet fit each other so well. Watching Diego work through his feeling of not being good enough was heart wrenching and seeing how Lilly dispelled those feelings was beautiful and believable. It was good to see past characters and catch up with them. Loved, loved, loved this book and can't wait for the next one. Honestly every book in this series is worth having and they just get better, Get your today and enjoy!
JM has a fabulous way of writing! You really feel that shes looking in the window of someone's life and just writing as they go along. I love that her stories aren't just mush. Not everyone comes from a happy background, not everyone has it easy. We all have our demons to battle and what makes us strong is that battle to move forward and realize that we cant always do it alone. We shouldn't have to. Maybe there's hope for true love after all?!
As a fan of the Lost and Found series, this is the Vail, CO division, where we met Grif and Kendall. Diego worked with Grif and received extensive injuries rescuing Kendall. Now a year later, Lilly is still drawn to him. Diego is a strong, flawed, alpha protector, and he is drawn into caring for Lilly. The desires are there, but he fights them. They are too different. She's rich, and he was from the "wrong side of the tracks". Besides, he's damaged, wears an eye patch, and has relationship fears. Lilly is so open, honest, and giving. She is his match on every level. He begins to see her in a different light. He saves her from being drugged and raped, and their tale of romance begins. Deep characters, hot sex, and an interesting twisty plot make this worthwhile. Highly recommend. This author is amazing. ENJOY !!!
This book tells the story of Diego and Lilly who we met in “Her Forever Hero”. Lilly is an ex-model turned designer who has always been valued for her looks so when Diego seems to look at her with more respect than that she can’t resist getting to know him better. Diego has some problems getting rid of his hang-ups about being raised poor and the physical look of his injuries but once he does and embraces Lilly and all she is these two are great together.
Diego and Lily's story is amazing. Poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks falling for the rich spoiled girl. Only thing is Lily is nothing like that and Diego has grown so much from what he was like as a teen.
Diego is up above observing the party when he notices something off. He grabs Lily's drink and proves that Ray had tried to drug her. While investigating him, the team find out some little secrets he wouldn't want out. Her father tells her she needs to drop the charges and stay away from Diego. It will run his social status. Diego tries to stay away from Lily but he can't. He loves her. Will they be able to get Ray to confess?
This book concentrates on the Vail branch of Lost and Found which Grif from a previous books is in charge of trying to get off the ground. Diego Ortiz has relocated to work with Grif. His past in the marines and the injuries he has sustained has made him not be good in large group situations and doesn’t really like to socialize in any form. It doesn’t thrill him that most of the jobs they are getting so far is babysitting the rich.
Lilly Carmichael is a former model and good friends with Kendall who is Grif’s wife. She met Diego in the past when he was in the hospital recovering. He’s not the friendliest person and usually ends up pushing Lilly away. When they both end up at a black tie event and Diego saves Lilly from being roofied, Lilly decides she going make her move and its not long before Diego cant dent his feelings for her.
These novelettes in the series aren’t as emotionally powerful as the full books – at least I don’t think so. Maybe there just isn’t the time to delve as deep into issues as the others. Grif and Kendall’s book was my least favorite of the series and that hit me as I was reading this one and not feeling the deep emotional feelings that I do it the other books that maybe its because its not at the main LNF offices with the guys that started the series . They just have a different feel. I defiantly liked Diego (who doesn’t love a tall dark and brooding hero) and Lilly was the perfect woman to pull him out of his head.
I had some reservations about this story, as I wasn't a fan of Grif and Kendall's story. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I liked Lilly immensely. She had a cool head, was down to earth, friendly, and had a big heart. I liked Diego as well, even though he had his issues. Yes he left a time or two, but I appreciate that Lilly kept her head and didn't become a sobbing mess.
With that being said, the Ray storyline was a downer, and was a bit much for a novella. My other issue was there was just too damn much sex. I love sex, and I understand its importance, but seriously, we don't need the play by play by play of every single encounter. You start to wonder if they do anything other than have sex, like talk? Sometimes less is more. All-in-all, a satisfactory addition to the series, although I'm missing the LNF boys at home.
